This is the welcome screen for ScreenToaster. Before you are able to use the software you have to set up an account. You do this by the log in in the upper right conner .

Once you set up an account. Log in with your user name and password. Accept the certificate and then click on start recordingThe red arrow is the recording button . You can also use Alt-s to start the recording of your screen show.
The black arrow gives you different options: such as record whole screen, record a part of the screen. If you record part of the screen a rectangle box appears and you can resize it to the portion of the screen you want to record.
The orange arrow shows you can record audio- so if you are giving a presentation. You can also record your web cam.
When you are done recording you hit Alt-S again to stop the recordings.
Then go back to the screen toaster page.
Once you did your recordings. Go back to screentoaster. and hit the playback key. It will take a few second to do the buffering. Then you can edit you movie. You can ad subtitles and make the screenshot interesting.
Then after you edit your video. You can share it with the world. You can save it as an AVI file or a SWF file. You can also upload it to Youtube or Screentoaster.
The uploading is the important part of the process. It saves them in a very low file so they don't take up much space on your computer.
I think this could be a very usefull application. Since you don't have to download any software. However, I haven't had problem doing the recording. My own issue with this software is that it takes forever to make the movie preview. I updated my java and it should work. However I haven't been able to successfully produce a movie. I don't think this will be a software that I will be using. I prefer to use my Adobe products.
I will continue to play with this software. But as of this minute I am very frustrated at how long it is taking to make a 2 second video.

I like the idea of being able to capture your screen without downloading a program however I think that if I am on my own computer I would probably use my jing account.
